Overview

This Privacy Policy describes how LiteShoper (“we”, “us”) collects, uses, stores, and protects personal information when you use our marketplace website (the “Site”), create an account, make purchases, download software, contact support, or participate in our affiliate program.

By using the Site, you acknowledge this policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the Site.

Related: Terms of Service.

Who this policy applies to

This policy applies to visitors, registered customers, and affiliates of the LiteShoper marketplace. It does not govern data collected by stores running LiteShoper software on their own servers—that is the responsibility of each store operator (see Your store vs. this Site below).

Information we collect

  • Account data: name, email address, password hash, account status, email verification status, and optional security settings (such as two-factor authentication).
  • Order and license data: purchase history, order amounts, currency, promo codes used, license keys, activation records, subscription status, complimentary / VIP / beta grant records, and download activity related to products you buy or receive from us.
  • License activation data: the site URL / domain you activate (often stored in hashed form), activation timestamps, and last-seen checks used to enforce activation limits.
  • Payment data: billing-related metadata processed by Stripe (for example customer ID, payment status, and transaction references). We do not store full card numbers on our servers.
  • Support data: messages, ticket subjects, attachments, and related metadata when you contact support or open a ticket.
  • Affiliate data: if you join our affiliate program, we collect application status, referral code, commission records, payout requests, payout notes you provide (for example PayPal or bank details), referral attribution, and related order references.
  • Referral and tracking data: when visitors use affiliate links (?ref=), we may set a referral cookie and log technical data such as landing page path, timestamp, and a hashed IP address for attribution and fraud prevention.
  • Download and CDN data: when you download plugins, themes, or core packages, we may verify your license or eligibility and deliver files from our servers and/or object storage / CDN (for example Cloudflare R2). Logs may include request time, product identifier, channel, and success/failure status.
  • Technical and security data: IP address, browser type, device information, session identifiers, login timestamps, security events, and logs used to protect the Site and detect abuse.
  • Communications: transactional emails (orders, licenses, password reset, verification, affiliate approvals, payout notices) and optional marketing or announcement emails where permitted and where you have not opted out.
  • Chat and help features: if you use on-site help or chatbot tools, we may process messages you send to provide support and improve responses.

How we use information

We use personal information to:

  • Create and manage your account and authenticate logins (including “remember me” sessions where enabled);
  • Process orders, deliver license keys, provide downloads (including via CDN / object storage), and manage subscriptions;
  • Enforce license activation limits and prevent key sharing or abuse;
  • Provide customer support and respond to inquiries;
  • Operate, maintain, and secure the Site (fraud prevention, abuse detection, audit logs);
  • Run the affiliate program (track referrals, calculate commissions, process payout requests, and prevent self-referral or misuse);
  • Send transactional and service-related communications;
  • Send marketing or product announcements where allowed, with opt-out options;
  • Comply with legal, tax, and accounting obligations;
  • Improve the Site, documentation, and customer experience.

Legal bases (where applicable)

Depending on your location, we process personal data based on one or more of the following: performance of a contract (providing accounts and purchases), legitimate interests (security, fraud prevention, improving services, license enforcement), consent (where required for optional cookies or marketing), and legal obligations.

Payment processing

Card and subscription payments are processed by Stripe. Stripe collects and processes payment information according to its own privacy policy. We receive limited billing metadata needed to fulfill orders and support your account.

We do not store complete payment card numbers on our servers.

Cookies and similar technologies

We use cookies and similar technologies for essential Site functions, including:

  • Session and login cookies — to keep you signed in and protect your account;
  • Security cookies — for CSRF protection, bot challenges (for example Cloudflare Turnstile), and abuse prevention;
  • Checkout and referral cookies — including affiliate attribution cookies when you arrive via a referral link;
  • Preference cookies / local storage — such as cookie consent choices and dismissed announcement banners where enabled.

Depending on Site settings, we may show a cookie consent banner for non-essential cookies or analytics. You can control cookies through your browser settings; disabling essential cookies may limit Site functionality.

Affiliate program privacy

If you participate as an affiliate, we process additional information to administer the program:

  • Your affiliate status, referral code, and commission rate;
  • Records of referred visits, qualifying orders, and commission amounts;
  • Payout requests and payment details you submit for payouts;
  • Communications about approvals, payouts, and program changes.

When customers purchase through your referral link, we attribute the sale using cookies and order data. We may block self-referrals and void commissions on refunded orders as described in our Terms of Service.

Data sharing

We do not sell your personal information.

We share data only with:

  • Service providers that help us operate the Site (payment processing, email delivery, hosting, security, infrastructure, and object storage / CDN for software delivery);
  • Professional advisers where required (for example accountants or lawyers);
  • Authorities when required by law, court order, or to protect rights, safety, and security.

Service providers are permitted to use data only as needed to perform services for us and subject to appropriate safeguards.

International transfers

Your information may be processed in countries other than your own, including where our service providers operate. We take reasonable steps to protect data in line with this policy.

Your store vs. this Site

LiteShoper software installed on your server is operated by you. Customer data collected in your online shop (names, addresses, order details, etc.) is controlled by you as the store owner.

You are responsible for your own privacy policy, lawful basis for processing, and compliance with applicable laws for your store’s customers.

Retention

We retain personal information for as long as needed to:

  • Provide accounts, licenses, and support;
  • Meet legal, tax, accounting, and dispute-resolution requirements;
  • Maintain security and fraud-prevention records.

Order, billing, and affiliate payout records may be kept longer where required by law or legitimate business needs. When data is no longer required, we delete or anonymize it where reasonably possible.

Security

We use administrative, technical, and organizational measures to protect personal information, including password hashing, access controls, encrypted secrets where applicable, and secure payment handling through Stripe. No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure; we cannot guarantee absolute security.

Your rights and choices

Depending on your location, you may have rights to:

  • Access personal information we hold about you;
  • Request correction of inaccurate data;
  • Request deletion of account data (subject to legal and billing retention requirements);
  • Object to or restrict certain processing;
  • Withdraw consent where processing is based on consent;
  • Opt out of marketing emails using unsubscribe links or account settings where available.

You may export some account data from your account dashboard where that feature is available. For other requests, contact us using the details below. We may need to verify your identity before responding.

Some information (for example completed order records) cannot be deleted immediately due to legal, tax, or fraud-prevention obligations.

Children

The Site is not intended for children under 18 (or the age of majority in your jurisdiction). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

Third-party links

The Site may link to third-party websites, plugins, or documentation. We are not responsible for the privacy practices of those third parties.

Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated effective date. Continued use of the Site after changes constitutes acknowledgment of the updated policy.

Contact

Privacy questions, data access requests, or deletion requests: contact us using the support email or ticket system shown on the Site. Include your account email and enough detail for us to locate your records.
