Updates & Backups in LiteShoper
Core version
LiteShoper shows its version in the admin sidebar (from version.php). Compare against the latest on liteshoper.com via System → Updates.
Backup
Before updating, click Create backup to download a ZIP of your files and database. Store backups off-server.
Update
- Open System → Updates.
- Confirm a newer version is available (requires outbound HTTPS to liteshoper.com).
- Create a backup.
- Click Update LiteShoper.
Your config.php, content/, plugins, themes, and uploads/ are preserved. After a successful update, install.php is removed automatically.
If update check fails
If the page shows “Could not check for updates”, your server may block outbound HTTPS. You can still create backups. Ask your host to allow connections to liteshoper.com on port 443.
